Where in the World is Daisy

From backaches to headaches, to clenched jaws. Like I said, I see her every Thursday, her and her staff, for adjustments and massage. And it's just been instrumental in improving the quality of my life. So this is a good time to go ahead and get started. That way your body is ready. Most people think stress and anxiety, and we only think of the emotional, getting maybe some therapy, stuff like that. And we actually partner with therapists to help with that as well, because sometimes it's going to keep coming back and that's held in the muscles. So that's one part and the other part is how the physical side, the postures can actually make things like breathing, anxiety...

We're a group of massage therapists and chiropractors. And going through school became very apparent how much movement was necessary, how much good blood circulation was necessary just to continuing to feel young. We kind of have a little mantra that everyone has to age, but not everyone has to feel old....

It can definitely feel like it's a lot. And I think often if you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed, you will lean towards something like food, often food or alcohol. Those tend to be the two big ones. Yeah, too much wine, right? Either I find you're a wine person or a cookie person. Um, and we just don't want to feel the stress. We don't want to feel uncomfortable. We just want to feel different than we currently do. So we use what we call a false pleasure. Right? Food or alcohol to feel better. And I think one of the key things you can do is start to understand what's going on in your brain. Like, what are you saying to yourself? Are you saying things like, Oh, I'm so gross! And Oh my God, I have to see my family and everyone's going to be judging me, and you know, just think about it. How are you going to feel about yourself when you're talking to yourself that way? You are not going to feel good. And when you don't feel good, you're likely not to take--not likely to take the actions you need to make yourself feel better. You're more likely to sabotage yourself. So just want to start to learn, to catch the little phrases you're saying to yourself that might seem so innocent, but in actuality might be causing you to eat the first place....

When you can see what is a fact and what a story, then you can ask yourself, what do I want to think about this? Because our thoughts actually create how we feel. So if you're feeling anxious, it's coming from the sentences in your mind. So we have to learn and understand, what are these sentences in our brain that are creating us to feel overwhelmed?...

We are living in a crisis, basically, in trauma. What a lot of people don't realize is right now, this is a global trauma. And really learning how to manage your mind and your emotions, it is a skill that you will be so grateful that you have. Really. I mean it's really transformed my life in a really magical way. We are back at gruvn Yoga and so excited to continue this journey with this amazing studio throughout the month of September. So just to recap, the first week, we talk about all the wonderful things, the opportunities here in your classes, the social distancing, outdoor gruvn on the green.
