Over 25 years ago I started working part time in the mortgage industry in order to have the flexibility to be at home and raise my family. However, I fell in love and ultimately launched a career that I have been passionate about ever since. I have had the privilege to work in various roles in the industry, which allows me to provide our borrowers with knowledge, experience, and perspective which only comes from working with a seasoned professional. I understand the stress buying a house and obtaining a mortgage can cause, but I also know in the end it is one of the best decisions you will ever make. I am honored to be here from the first moment you decide to buy a home, to your closing, and then for many years to come as you are now part of our family!
I love to serve and take care of other people- it is my passion. From a very early age, I helped take care of my twin sister who was born with a non-life threatening birth defect. Since then I have walked through life with a servant’s heart volunteering through various organizations. When our family was relocating right after we were married due to my husband’s military orders, I knew I wanted to find a career that would allow me to utilize my passion and make a difference in other people’s lives. I love my job because it allows me to provide excellent customer service while using fast paced analytical thinking. I love numbers and puzzles, which aids me when putting together the best suited loan package for our borrowers because I want our borrowers to be happy and satisfied knowing that they are getting the best loan scenario based on their story, wants, needs, and goals.
I believe that home ownership is one of the top three events that happen in our lives (marriage, children, & buying a house). Not only because it is one of the best financial investments we make during our lifetime, but also because it is the “HUB” for all of our memories that we create with our families. I am truly honored to be trusted enough by our borrowers to have a role in making a dream of theirs reality. I also know that these major life events can be very stressful, especially all that comes with buying a new home. I have bought a few homes during my lifetime and bring my personal experiences to my mortgage loan processing. I strive to keep my borrowers informed every step of the way so they are knowledgeable about each part of the process ahead of time. I love to make that process as worry free and smooth as possible.
In my nearly 20 year career in the mortgage industry I have witnessed tremendous change, evolution, and transition. What I have found is that buyers today have the same concerns, anxieties, and stresses that buyers had 20 years ago. For most people, purchasing a home is their largest investment and the most substantial purchase of their life. I have found that really listening to each buyer’s unique concerns, answering their questions, and walking them through the loan process is the most important part of my job. I treasure the relationships that I build with our buyers and am honored with their confidence in me as we work toward closing day. I am always grateful and humbled to play a small role in helping families fulfill their dreams.
In 1997, we purchased the 5th home in our 11 year marriage. I recall what it’s like to purchase as a young and scared couple just making enough money to grab a piece of the American Dream. I remember what it was like to move to a brand new city knowing no one and nothing about how to find doctors, churches, and good schools. I know that a conversation with a complete stranger can make such a difference and how a small and seemingly insignificant kindness matters. I want to hear people’s stories and I want to know about their families and their joys. I want to know what makes them smile and what makes them sad. I want to be that “someone” to another person that can make “moving” less challenging and less frightening. I want their Realtor’s to feel at ease and comfortable with me because as a seasoned Realtor, I, too, know how the seemingly insignificant kindnesses can make all the difference.
Throughout my life I have had the privilege to experience various different roles in the real estate industry. As a builder and developer, my husband worked one on one with families as they created the home of their dreams, and I had the pleasure to work with families to find their dream home as a Realtor. I know that first impressions make all the difference and that a warm, kind person can make a seemingly stressful time period a little lighter when navigating the homebuying process. I am thrilled to be the first person most of our buyers and realtors speak with, bonding and connecting with them on a personal level.
I have spent my entire life living in East Cobb and the surrounding areas and am so happy to be raising my boys in the same place where I grew up. I love that the sense of community in East Cobb has remained consistent over the years, even with the growth and change in the area. My husband of 18 years always says that I have never met a stranger and I believe that speaks to my personality. I love working with others and sharing my passion for bringing people and businesses together.
I’m Daisy the Mortgage Dog, a tan and white Chihuahua. Although I may be small, I have a big personality and am very photogenic! I was born in Alabama and rescued by The Walther Family. I love spending time with my parents, human brothers, and animal siblings Louie, Hershey, Sophie, & Cleo!
