04 Dec Holly Walther & Team Fun Fact Friday: Mortgage Company vs Mortgage Broker
Hi, good afternoon. It’s Holly and little miss Daisy. She’s tired this afternoon. But here we are with your Fun Fact Friday. So weekly, as a team, we get together – actually three times a week to be exact. And we were masterminding on: What are some of the most common questions we get with initial conversations with borrowers? So what of the main questions we seem to hear is “What makes you different from a broker?” So this week we thought we would highlight what makes us different as a mortgage company compared to a mortgage broker.
So when you’re working with a mortgage broker, they are funding and handling your transaction as a third party. They’re going to take your application, they’re going to get the necessary documentation, and then they’re going to pass that file one to whatever investor is going to underwrite, review, prepare the closing package, send all the funds and facilitate that whole process on their behalf through your closing.
So that is what a broker looks like. Because they don’t handle the whole process, sometimes there will be a little bit of an incentive for going that route. Um, but they don’t have the control like we have here at Holly Walther Lending Team powered by Success Mortgage Partner. We are a full-service mortgage lender. So what does that mean? We control the process from the initial conversation through closing, post-closing, and we actually service as a percentage of our portfolio. So we maintain control the entire time. If there is an underwriting hiccup, if there is an appraisal issue, I am not at the mercy of the investor trying to call them, trying to get an update, trying to find out what is going on with the loan file because we control all of that here in-house under our roof.
Um, so hope that helps explain some of the benefits of a broker versus a full-service mortgage company. We would love to meet with you, talk to you, assist you in this process. So give us a call if we can help. Have a great weekend.
