22 Nov Holly Walther & Team Fun Fact Friday: Freezing Your Credit During the Holidays
Hi, good afternoon. It’s Holly and little Miss Daisy. And we are here with your Fun Fact Friday. So, first of all, we just want to wish you and all those that are important to you, a very happy Thanksgiving. Cause by the time we talk to you next week, Thanksgiving will have past. And in the spirit of the holidays and gift-giving and Black Friday being next week, we wanted to remind you of keeping your credit frozen. And that can be really important during the holiday season cause identity theft is up during the holidays. All those wonderful people out there trying to buy all those Christmas gifts and holiday presents on our dime. So I wanted to remind you all, go to each Credit Bureau: TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian and request a security freeze on your private report. Now, this won’t keep somebody from using your existing credit card accounts, but it does prevent people from opening new accounts under your name. Because trust me, it’s a lot easier to go through the trouble of unfreezing your credit in the event that you need it versus having to get your identity back after someone has stolen it. So that’s our quick Friday fun fact as we move into the holidays. As always, we are grateful and honored to know you. And if you need us, please give us a call. Have a great weekend.
